Get to know Flathead Lake and Bigfork

We are lucky to live in one of the most beautiful places in the US! Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi and allows for great fishing, boating and playing! The wedding is also located near the village of Bigfork which is known for its art galleries and proximity to Glacier National Park, the Jewel Basin and Bob Marshall Wilderness. Here are some links for more info about the lake and the surrounding towns and attractions.
Flights on Priceline
We have been doing some research on flights for the weekend of the wedding. Priceline has some really good prices -around $298 with taxes. These rates are flying from Memphis, TN to Missoula, MT. For those guests in other areas, like Minnesota- I would suggest trying Priceline for flights also.
Missoula is located about and 1.5 hours from where we are located. We are planning on picking up some guests in Missoula so let us know if you would like to carpool or follow us in a rental car.
If you are comfortable with "Naming Your Own Price" on Priceline- I would recommend doing this. Basically, you will be bidding on a better price for a flight. Somtimes you can get up to 40% off! Call Brittany for more info or help with this.
You can also fly into Kalispell (FCA) which is a smaller airport but located only 30 minutes from Bigfork. We have found that flights to this airport are more expensive but you do not have to drive as far.

Local Motels, Hotels and Camping
We would like to provide our out of town guests with information about lodging in the area so that we can help make your trip as easy as possible! The following are links to hotels and other lodging that we recommend. * Timbers Motel http://www.timbersmotel.com/
The Timbers is located right outside of the village of Bigfork. It has great rates for the wedding weekend because they are considered "Fall" rates. It is located within walking distance of the village and a public access to Flathead Lake.
*Bridge Street Cottages http://bridgestreetcottages.com/
The cottages are located in the heart of Bigfork. You will be located within walking distance of restaurants, shops, art galleries and the Swan River Nature Trail. They are very nice but you will pay a bit more in comparison to some of the other lodging.
*Woods Bay Resort http://www.woodsbayresort.com/
Some of our friends own the Woods Bay Resort, which is located 5 miles south of Bigfork on Flathead Lake. They have public beach access and is very close to local bars and restaurants. Please chat with Brad or Susan and let them know you are coming up for our wedding. They also have RV hook-ups!
*Mountain Lake Lodge http://www.mountainlakelodge.com/
The lodge is also located in Woods Bay and have beautiful views of the lake. It is a little more expensive for rooms but is worth the extra $!
*Woods Bay Marina & RV Resort http://www.woodsbay.com/
The marina has a couple of RV and camping spots available along with boat slips. It is a great spot if you are bringing any toys!
*Outback Montana RV Park and Campground http://www.outbackmontana.com/pages/main.html
The Outback is a great spot for camping and for those of you bringing RVs. It is also located in Woods Bay.
We also have information on vacation rentals. Please contact us for particular sites and rates. These would be good for those travelers who have large parties of 8 or more.
Visit Glacier National Park!
